Everything Marsh can do

A tiny buddy with a big job: keeping fake news away from your feed.

🔀

Two ways to use it

Bubble mode: a marshmallow floats on screen — tap to check. Screenshot mode: nothing floats at all; Marsh checks automatically every time you take a screenshot. Pick either in Settings.

🫧

Floating bubble

In bubble mode Marsh floats over any app and snaps to the edge. Drag it wherever you like — or hold and drag it onto the ✕ to close, no need to open the app.

👀

One tap, or automatic

Tap the bubble, or just take a screenshot. Either way Marsh reads the text on-device with OCR — no copy-paste, no fuss.

🧠

Fake-news check

Marsh zeroes in on the main post or article on screen — ignoring the clock, app bars and half-cut posts — and gives a clear verdict (real, possibly fake, or uncertain) with a short, plain-language why.

🔒

Privacy-first

Your screenshot never leaves your phone. It's read on-device for text only, then the image is discarded — never stored, never uploaded.

😊

Expressive buddy

Marsh reacts with cute faces — happy when it's real, alert when something smells fishy. Fact-checking, but adorable.

🌏

Speaks your language

English, Filipino, Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, Arabic, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and French — Marsh greets and reports in the language you set.

How Marsh works

From "hmm, is this true?" to an answer in three taps.

1

Start Marsh

Open the app, choose bubble or screenshot mode in Settings, tap Start, and allow the permissions it asks for.

2

Tap, or take a screenshot

Reading something suspicious? Tap the floating Marsh — or, in screenshot mode, just screenshot it. Marsh reads the text on-device.

3

Get your verdict

Marsh shows a result card — ✅ real, ⚠️ possibly fake, or 🤔 uncertain — with a short explanation. It only spends a scan when it gives you a real verdict.

Your screen stays yours

Marsh is built to be nosy about fake news — never about you.

  • Images are read only on your device for text (OCR).
  • In bubble mode the captured frame is discarded immediately after the text is read; in screenshot mode Marsh only reads the screenshot you took and never deletes or copies it.
  • Only the extracted text is sent for fact-checking — never an image.
  • No images stored by Marsh, nothing uploaded, ever.
  • No login required — no personal account to create.

Questions? Marsh has answers

Is Marsh available on iPhone?

Not yet. Marsh needs a floating bubble and screen scanning, which iOS doesn't allow. It's Android-only for now.

Do I have to have a bubble floating on my screen?

No. In Settings you can switch to screenshot mode: nothing floats on screen at all. Marsh just watches for new screenshots, and each time you take one it checks it automatically and shows the result — then disappears again until your next screenshot.

Does a "please scan again" or "AI is busy" result cost me a scan?

No. A scan is only spent when Marsh actually gives you a verdict. If it couldn't read a full post, the service is busy, or you're offline, your daily count doesn't move.

Does Marsh record or upload my screen?

No. In bubble mode it grabs one frame when you tap, reads the text on-device, then discards it. In screenshot mode it only reads the screenshot you chose to take. Either way, only the extracted text is sent for fact-checking — never an image, and nothing is recorded in the background.

How accurate is the fact-check?

Marsh gives a helpful signal, not a final ruling. Treat it as a smart nudge to think twice and verify with trusted sources.

What if Marsh gets it wrong?

Every result card has a Report button. Tapping it sends that verdict and the scanned text to us so we can review and improve. Marsh is a helpful signal, not the last word.

Is Marsh really free?

Yes — completely free. You get 10 fact-checks every day with no account and no payment. Optional credit codes can add non-expiring bonus scans.

What do I get for free?

10 scans every day, resetting at midnight. No account, no payment. Credit codes can add non-expiring bonus scans on top.

Which permissions does Marsh need?

"Display over other apps" to show results on top of other apps. Bubble mode also uses screen-capture consent to read the screen when you tap. Screenshot mode instead needs photo/media access so it can read the screenshot you just took (it does not use screen capture). Both modes show a notification while running.

Does it work offline?

The text reading (OCR) happens on-device and works offline. The fact-check step needs an internet connection.
